SUSTAIN Eurocluster Unveils 15 Awarded Projects from the 2nd Open Call to Drive Energy Efficiency in Sustainable Construction
The SUSTAIN Eurocluster project has announced the winners of its second Open Call, aimed at providing financial support to SMEs across Europe in the sustainable construction sector. A total of 15 projects from nine EU countries have been selected to address the challenges and demands of the energy transition within the building and housing sectors.
With a budget of €450,000, this second Open Call supports projects in their demonstration or launch phases, focusing on improving energy efficiency and optimizing resource use in buildings. Each project incorporates Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) and state-of-the-art technologies to enhance building energy performance and contribute directly to the EU’s decarbonization targets for the building sector.
The selected initiatives are leveraging cutting-edge technologies—including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), and Building Information Modeling (BIM)—to create tools that enable better energy optimization and monitoring. These projects also integrate advanced systems, such as Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and methodologies for Positive Energy Building (PEB) retrofitting.
By supporting these innovative solutions, the SUSTAIN Eurocluster Open Call is advancing key decarbonization objectives, such as improving energy efficiency in both operational and new constructions, while streamlining SRI monitoring and assessment processes.
