INSPIRE: A Comprehensive Platform for Building Smartness and Efficiency
Led by Energy@Work Società Cooperativa, the INSPIRE experiment seeks to reshape the building sector in Europe by advancing energy efficiency and promoting smart building technologies. This ambitious project was recognized as one of the winners of the first Sustain EuroCluster Open Call. INSPIRE introduces an integrated platform that supports the European Union’s Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) scheme, measuring and promoting building intelligence. The platform includes three main components: the Advanced SRI Calculator Engine, which monitors energy performance in real-time; the BMS Integrator, facilitating seamless connectivity between energy systems; and the Optimized Investment Advisor, which evaluates building data to recommend efficient investments in renewable energy sources and smart devices, aligned with both financial and environmental goals.
The platform’s features enable real-time monitoring and interaction with crucial systems, including HVAC, lighting, and renewable energy sources. By leveraging IoT, AI-driven algorithms, and the BMS Integrator, INSPIRE provides tailored insights for building owners and tenants, promoting active energy management and supporting sustainability goals. This dynamic approach fosters energy flexibility and empowers users to make data-driven decisions that enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
As INSPIRE progresses, it aims to set new benchmarks for smart, sustainable building management across Europe. By refining its tools and enhancing data integration with IoT devices, the platform will empower users to maximize building performance while aligning with EU climate objectives. Through ongoing collaboration with R&D centers and innovative enterprises, INSPIRE is well-positioned to drive widespread adoption of smart, energy-efficient building solutions across the continent.
