SUSTAIN Consortium Advances Green and Digital Transition in the Building Sector at the 3rd Plenary Meeting in Riga
Press Release | July 17, 2023 – The SUSTAIN project consortium, consisting of the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the Greek Digital Innovation Hub (ahedd), the Catalan Energy Cluster (CEEC), Green Tech Cluster from Latvia, and the IsZEB Cluster gathered in Riga on July 11 and 12 for their 3rd plenary meeting. The meeting aimed to accelerate the market of building construction and address strategic dependencies within the industry while promoting green and digital transition.
The consortium partners discussed the implementation and progress of operational work packages, with a particular focus on analysing the current status of business process innovations related to the adoption of technologies by SMEs for their green and digital transition. The meeting provided a platform to exchange ideas and share insights for the successful execution of the project.
Another important outcome of the meeting was the establishment of guidelines for the next open calls. SUSTAIN aims to directly support SMEs in developing energy management innovations for the buildings sector. The funding calls will prioritize mini-projects that develop, establish, or validate tools and approaches in building relevant scenarios. The criteria for the funding call will be published on various platforms such as the European Cluster Collaboration Platform, Enterprise Europe Network, Funding and Tenders Portal, partners’ websites, and SUSTAIN’s social media channels. Key stakeholders such as EISMEA, the Commission’s Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs (DG GROW), and the European Cluster Collaboration Platform will be tagged to ensure visibility and accessibility.
In addition to the funding calls, the consortium defined the contents and calendar of the upcoming support courses for SMEs and Cluster staff. These courses aim to foster innovation and encourage the exchange of good practices within the industry.
The SUSTAIN project is making significant strides towards achieving its goals and propelling the building sector into a greener and more digitalized future. With the support of its consortium partners and stakeholders, SUSTAIN aims to shape the industry’s landscape by fostering collaboration, innovation, and sustainable development.
