The consortium organises the first webinar to present the SUSTAIN Open Call

The SUSTAIN Eurocluster’s consortium celebrated a webinar on the 22nd of September about the SUSTAIN Open Call, which was launched this month. The aim of this information session, conducted by Nikolaos Laloumis, from the Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), was to present these financial opportunities and show potential applicants how to fill in their proposals.

One of the main objectives of this call is to provide direct support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) helping them to adopt the most innovative technologies in the construction sector, and, in turn, reinforce transformation into a greener and more digital economy.

The webinar focused on the eligibility requirements, the thematic areas that will be involved and the evaluation criteria. Additionally, the submission procedure through the SUSTAIN digital platform was also explained in detail.

The SUSTAIN Open Call will contribute decisively to help SMEs developing new products, services or methods addressing the smart building construction challenges.

The first call is adapted to Innovation support [TRL 4-6] solutions and the proposed projects must be aligned with at least one of the following topics (in case of selecting more than one topic, the applicant has to mention which one is the main topic):

  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Artificial Intelligence (AI)
  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR)
  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Building Information Modelling (BIM)
  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs)
  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Building Energy Management System (BEMS)
  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Internet of Things (IoT)
  • Smart Readiness Indicators (SRI) coupled with Methodologies and Tools to Support Positive Energy Buildings (PEB) Construction/Renovation

The awarded SME (or SMEs Consortium) will be able to receive up to 50.000€, according to the proposed experiment type. The call targets SMEs, which can apply individually or as consortium.

The deadline for the presentation of projects in the first line of funding (TRL 4-6) which opened this month ends on the 1st of November.
