Calling All Changemakers: The Sustain Open Call has been launched and is all about innovative ideas for the Construction sector!

The future of technological innovation is now, and the open calls for proposals targeting two distinct technology readiness levels are set to revolutionize the way we interact with our built environment.

The driving force behind these open calls is the recognition of the transformative potential that emerges from the synergy between Smart Readiness Indicators and various technological domains. By strategically coupling SRI with Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Building Information Modelling (BIM), Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), Internet of Things (IoT), and Methodologies/Tools for Positive Energy Buildings (PEB) Construction/Renovation, these calls open doors to a new era of intelligent and energy-efficient infrastructure.

Applicants have the unique opportunity to align their projects with their technological readiness, ensuring a seamless and efficient journey towards innovation and market integration. The first SUSTAIN Open Call is open until 01 November 2023 and accepts project proposals for the Innovation Support track [TRL 4-6], aiming to empower visionaries to refine and validate their ideas, and provided funding up to 50.000€ lump sum per proposal. The Go-to-Market Support track [TRL 7-9] that propels advanced solutions towards commercial success, will be supported in the second SUSTAIN Open Call and will be announced in the upcoming months.

Before submitting their proposals, interested parties are advised to conduct a thorough self-assessment of their proposed solution’s Technology Readiness Level (TRL) and its alignment with the designated thematic area. This self-assessment guarantees a harmonious fit between the project’s objectives and the chosen financing scheme.
