The SUSTAIN Eurocluster Project sets off aiming to promote energy efficiency measures and innovation in the construction sector
Press Release | October 3, 2022 – The SUSTAIN Eurocluster Project started on October 3, with the official kick-off meeting launch. The project, which aims to promote energy efficiency measures and innovation in the construction sector, is made up of 5 members from 3 countries of the European Union, among which there are, the Center for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), the Greek Digital Innovation Hub (ahedd), the Catalan Energy Cluster (CEEC), Green Tech Cluster from Latvia, and the IsZEB Cluster.
In an online session, the members of the consortium have approved the main work framework and have established the strategic goals of the project, which will take 3 years. Funded by the European Commission, the SUSTAIN Eurocluster will support companies, and specially SMEs, in a continuous process of business innovation, while introducing the latest technologies of the European industrial ecosystems to the market.
In the long term, and together with the other members of the consortium, the Catalan Energy Cluster will also seek to implement new models of collaboration between European cluster organizations and other key actors, facilitating new interconnections in the energy sector’s value chain.
Participating in this constituting session, there were Dimosthenis Ioannidis and Nikolaos Laloumis from the Center for Research and Technology, Hellas (CERTH) of Greece, functioning as project coordinators; Denia Kanellopoulou and George Giannakopoulos, from the Digital Innovation Hub (ahedd); Francesco Valezano, on behalf the Catalan Energy Cluster; Salvis Roga and Ieva Meiksane, from the Green Tech Cluster of Latvia; and Asterios Tzirgas and Dimitra Tsirigoti, as representatives of IsZEB Cluster, dedicated to Intelligent Solutions For Zero & Positive Energy Buildings.
